Since late 2011, Stevia* is allowed to be used in Germany. Stevia* is a sweetener extracted from the plant of the same name, which is native to South America. The Swiss botanist Moises Giacomo Bertoni discovered it in 1887 in South America, where it has beencultivated in plantationssince the late1970s. Stevia* leaves taste up to 300 times sweeter than table sugar, however it does not contain any energy value. The leaves and extracts of the plant can be used as a calorie-free sweetener in foods and beverages, therefore the artificial sweeteners aspartame and acesulfame K no longer need to be used.
Since January 2012, the sugar-free Pulmoll flavours are sweetend with Stevia* and do not contain the artificial sweeteners aspartame and acesulfam K. In this way, Pulmoll is pioneer for sweetening with Stevia* in the candy market. The sugar-free flavours are toothfriendly** and exceptional in taste thanks to the new recipe with isomalt and Stevia*. The fruity flavours have also a more fruity taste thanks to the fruit juice concentrate. This conversion required a Long and extensive product development process, including in-depth tested recipes with an emphasis on flavour.
The result is outstanding! Pulmoll with Stevia* ensures a great taste experience.
